WTTW, Your Window To Some Bullshit Suze Orman Crap

I love PBS. I love the cooking shows on weekends. I love Frontline and Nova on Tuesday nights. I love The McLaughlin Group, The News Hour, Chicago Tonight and a whole mess of other programming. I donate when these shows are on because that is why I watch. So why the fuck do they put on all these stupid fucking self improvement programs and terrible concerts by some of the lamest performers ever during the pledge drive? Do they think that by driving away their core viewership and attracting people who like crap that they can make more money?

Suze Orman scares me. I mean, look at her. I think she wants to eat my brains. And who the fuck is going to take financial advice from a woman who would buy a shirt like that?

I'm opposed to pledge drives as a whole; I'm not advocating commercials on PBS and NPR, but for crying out loud, isn't there some other way (any way?!) to get donations?

Maybe the shirt was on a super duper sale? I tend to hate pledge drives as well but I think they are a necessary evil.

I'm not opposed to the pledge drives. I am opposed to the crap they put on during the pledge drive. Why don't they put on a Frontline marathon or something like that?

I love NPR and PBS but I prefer someone else pay for it.

I think they should start an all pledge drive channel. I need more Mannheim Steamroller in my life.

Personally, I like Suze, as she gives good financial advice to people who are not financially literate.

No, her advice is not "sophisticated". One jealous Merrill Lynch guy referred to her as the "Barney the Dinasaur of financial advice". Well, most people out here are 5-year-olds when it comes to money. They do not need advice on hedge funds or hyper-sophisticated options strategies or analysis of stocks. They need to know how to get their debt in hand and safeguard their retirments and how much their card debt and car loans are really costing them.

Fashion, however, is not her thing.
