Of Many Pet Peeves

I am one of those people who are irritated by odd crap. I got lots of irritants. Today it is the issue of baseball caps that is stuck in my craw.

Why is it that any sport other than baseball would distribute baseball caps? Why do I have to look at people wearing Lakers, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and all those other non-baseball clubs wearing baseball hats? This really irritates me. I don't know why. Maybe I am just an old fashioned curmudgeon.

On a similar note, I get irritated by the pink baseball hats worn by suburban ladies. I have wanted to swat them off the heads of all the faux Cub fans from Schaumburg for years. Now I see SOX faux fans wearing them. I am sorry to Ed and others if these morons are now making their way to the south side and driving your ticket prices up. I can't recall any time when the Cubs or the Sux ever having having the colors of pink and white. Why can't ladies wear blue? Why can't they wear black? Isn't it supposed to be slimming.?

I too am annoyed by things other people overlook. I went to a Cubs game the other day and it was fun. But occasionally I wonder why people get so involved in supporting a company they don't own. Cubs, Bulls, Sox, Bears - all big profitable organizations that are just out to suck your money. It's fun to watch a game, but what's up with this fervent allegiance to a gang of millionaires who think we're peons?

I enjoy small college games or high school games at least as much as the big leagues. Hell, the kids down at the YMCA put on a pretty good show playing basketball, as long as you don't need some guy wandering by to charge you $12 for beer and hot dogs.

Outside of baseball, I watch college basketball. I don't care for any other pro sports. The NBA, NFL, and NHL are full of thugs who don't care about anything other than making money. There are those in pro baseball that are the same way but they are few. The farm system teaches them how lucky they are to be in the big leagues most of the time.

I wish we could outlaw kids being recruited out of high school into the NBA or any other pro sport. I think there should be an age requirement for pro ball.

Anyway, the Cubs are getting spanked tonight and I'm still watching. Why? I am retarded.

the green SOX hat is really weird. Where the hell did that come from? It would be ok if the Hulk wore one but that's about it.

I wish I could outlaw kids from being recruited into Colleges, taking sham courses, and not getting a dime for filling up arenas. These jocks take the place of serious students in Universities.
Rick Tellander was right, when in his bill "The Hundred Yard Lie" he proposed an age group professional league that the pros would fund.
Over in Europe, when a football club (soccer) finds a young 14 or 16 year old talent, they get him in a club run team, and start his professional career. This is how michael Owen, David Beckham, Thierry Henry, and lots of other footballers started their career.
None of this nonsense about being a "student athlete".
